100% cut off Trump supporters. As of now we have cut off them off ~75%.
Trump supporter here. I chuckle a bit when I see comments like this, knowing that I have friends and family who are Trump haters who really don't know where I stand. I let them rant and nod my head, but mostly try to steer the conversation away from politics. How will you know when you get to 100%? When it's just you and your cats?
You're ashamed to own your vote publicly, and you should be.
DP. You misunderstand. The PP isn’t “ashamed” of anything. S/he simply knows when to stay away from crazy. Weren’t you ever taught not to discuss politics (or religion) in polite company? Or maybe it’s just that the company you keep isn’t polite.
+1 Nobody but my husband knows I’m voting for Trump. I like to nod and smile along with what the liberals I know say, so maybe they think I’m one of them. But I’m most definitely not. Politics just isn’t an appropriate topic in public, and I do get a kick out of knowing exactly what I’m going to do when no one else does.
+2 For normal people, political views are a private thing. Only those who enjoy picking fights deliberately engage.
Stop trying to normalize Trump as regular "politics". When the Trump and the GOP sh1t on the Constitution people take notice. It's not just "politics". And people talk about it. Quite a bit. If you sit there quietly drinking your wine without saying a peep, we know.
This statement is interesting to me. I work in what could be considered a liberal industry, with a lot of young, liberal people. I am a die-hard conservative and a Trump voter. It's interesting at times, but we all get along great at work and even socialize some on the weekends. But I NEVER discuss politics with any of these people. If other people do, I either sit quietly and say nothing or change the topic to something we all agree on. I have never once had a problem with interacting with any of these colleagues and in fact like almost all of them a lot on a personal level. They invite me to their events, too, so I know the feeling is mutual. Are you saying that they "know" that I'm a Trump voter?
+100 The PP is one of those liberal extremists who thinks they’re intimidating us by insisting we announce who we’re voting for. In reality, only loudmouths who like to argue actually talk about politics in public / mixed company. Polite people know enough to keep quiet on the subjects of politics and religion, regardless of their beliefs. The PP claims s/he “knows” who the Trump voters are because they remain quiet when everyone else is discussing politics, but the reality is, many Democrats do too. At least, those who respect differing views and don’t have any desire get in someone’s face and scream at them. I have family members, friends, colleagues, etc. who probably aren’t Trump voters (and many who likely are), but we get along fine. That’s because we enjoy one another’s company and leave politics out of it. Poor PP. People probably avoid him/her like the plague.
