We live in a less wealthy area, and neighbors just called 311 last weekend for people drag racing up one of the streets in our neighborhood.  Right by the park.  The one neighbor couldn't even get a response from the police.  Took an hour and a half, and they told her to call the Desk Sargent, which just confused her.  We find it really tough to get enforcement for anything in our neighborhood.  Police just have bigger fish to fry.[/quote]

She called 911 and was told to call the non-emergency number.

We also learned from another neighbor that officers are not allowed to chase down the crazy guys who ride around the neighborhood too fast on dirt bikes because if the rider crashes into a tree and gets hurt, they could be responsible.  We also thought THAT was bizarre.  [/quote]
