How do you know? My DS was accepted but is reluctant to tell others because he knows most did not get in. I don’t want to tell anyone for the same reason. I just assumed I would find out at the open house.[/quote]

NP, but no.  Parents talk, kids talk.  Normally the outliers tend to gravitate towards each other so it's likely there is some sort of familiarity between the families.

Open house will also answer those questions.  When my kid got in, most of the kids had been together since K and the parents addressed the issue carefully and respectfully.[/quote]

Our school has five third grade classes and probably more than half of the kids applied.  I can't imagine how you'd find out every acceptance/rejection.  Maybe in a smaller school it would be possible.[/quote]
