HENCE THE FARMS ELEMENT AND COHORT ELEMENT IN THE ADMISSION PROCESS (please imagine I said that like Dwight discussing bears in “The Office”)... Also, the top third of kids in DC’s class are going at half the pace that would best suit them, so it isn’t like we’re talking about just a few kids. There just isn’t enough widely available differentiation in the MCPS curriculum until high school. And why shouldn’t we hold our public institutions to a decent standard? Their ours, funded through our taxes and designed to serve our communities. They can’t be perfect, but they absolutely can be great.[/quote]
