Thanks for reaching out and its nice to hear from you.  In the soccer landscape (especially youth) the rumors can circulate like wildfire.  I can assure you that no decisions have been made about the Spirit youth model or programming for 2019 and beyond.

Right now it's business as usual with the Spirit youth programing and DA support continuing this spring for both the Virginia and Maryland DA programs.

Ouch, no decision on 2019 yet?  Why not?  Everyone else is having ID sessions - FCV and Arlington already have dates.

Probably because the new CEO wants to review the books to ensure the organization is OK on cashflow and provides a benefit to the organization.   Once that's confirmed, he can decide to continue.  Not an earth shattering idea and, quite frankly, ID sessions are not much different than any club cattle call anyway.  Not much benefit to having them.[/quote]

As a professional, whenever companies I worked for had CEO, etc changes, even when it turned out to be a lie, we were assured we still had our jobs.  In soccer world, when there have been management team changes, we were told the program would continue.

I'm not saying VA DA will go away, but I just started to feel anxious because he didn't say it wouldn't.  I'd feel a lot better - as a Spirit parent - if he said ID sessions would be announced soon and/or the program would continue.  He didn't.

You should always have a backup plan no matter where you are.  You don't think FCV parents have backup plans?   That's a club that routinely throws out their players for the next hot thing that walks in.[/quote]
