Oh gosh, I have to admit that it bothers me when parents let their kids turn around and hang over the back of the booth and watch us eat. The first or second time they look over and smile/ham it up it is cute, but when it keeps going the whole meal without the parent doing anything to stop it, I find it a bit annoying (and I'm more irked with the parents than the child, who is usually just being their friendly self). I don't want to be a curmudgeon and ignore the kid/not return their smile, but at some point you have to do just that so you can focus on your meal and conversation with the person you are dining with.[/quote]
