PP why do you think this is up to school administrators to confront? You fixed nothing since that isn'the what she said.
It would be nice if school administrators had the guts to say -- enough of this nonsense; it's not going to happen at school. Dress up like princesses all you want to at home, but you are in school to learn physics, math, chemistry, foreign languages and everything else that will make this country strong and competitive in the years ahead. We, as educators, are not here to indulge your fantasies and whims. But of course the snowflake parents who believe that Johnny and Suzie are special and should be "expressing themselves," even to the point of distracting/ annoying/ amusing everyone else, would never stand for that.
Specifically what isn't going to happen at school?
Resounding to the bold: boys pretending to be girls and girls pretending to be boys. Not to mention, endless discussions about the topic and how we must all play along
And what, specifically, do you expect school administrators to do to stop it? I agree that endless discussions are disruptive. You know what would stop the endless discussions? Letting people be who they are, or who they say they are, and then getting on with the school day. As you yourself say.
