Right. But why didn't he just get off the plane? I fly 100K+ miles a year and I just don't understand this situation. That's where everything went wrong, so I'm not sure why everyone's harping on United.

He's probably not a frequent flyer (hence his selection) and felt an obligation to the patients he was to see the next day.  It's not hard to imagine that he sees patients with critical needs or who have waited a long time to see him.  I'm sure he never imagined that they'd beat him and drag him off the plane.  And frankly, the fact that you don't understand the uproar is a bit disturbing.  Do you think it's okay for companies to beat up their paying customers?  [/quote]

He wasn't unruly.  He wasn't creating a disturbance.  Judging by the overwhelming reaction of the flying public, most people would not expect to be beaten and dragged off the plane in this circumstance. [/quote]
