I'm a Chantilly parent and emailed the entire SB individually and Reid's office about keeping the Chantilly Mews kids here. I got a form reply about a public hearing from Reid's assistant and nothing from anyone else. Not even a "thanks for reaching out" form email.
I think they were incredibly naive. They thought everyone in western Fairfax would love them for upending the CIP to spend money on a new HS near Carson. I’m sure most of them gave very little thought until recently to what the back end adjustments might look like, and even then most are probably just hunkered down and deferring to Reid and Dixit.
Remember: We were in the midst of a comprehensive boundary study. Chantilly was bursting at the seams. Westfield was full. South Lakes was full. Oakton close to being overcrowded. Fairfax full. This school was needed. Period.
I am not sure why this is the refrain to any post that questions how they’ve gone about setting the Skyview boundaries or backfilling Westfield. You can think it’s great they bought KAA and still think they’re making questionable boundary decisions, whether it’s leaving Crossfield at Oakton or only backfilling Westfield with poorer neighborhoods. So your “period” is only a comma, at best.
