Through the years, the MD administration has touted Prep off of boys that they didn't recommend. This is done informally based on personal relationships between the MD staff and the Catholic high schools. People who are in the know are aware of this history and the specific examples. So local people see a good athlete, or anyone go from MD to Landon or Bullis, they assume it's because of academic and/or character issues. Is this always the case? Who knows? But it's happened numerous times. People don't send their kids to a very Catholic school and social environment like MD and then suddenly decide that Catholic education isn't for them.[/quote]
