I read that the Town of Vienna is pissed about them moving some residents out of the community school and their governing body issued a statement recently condemning it. Almost the entire Fairfax community wants to stay where they are. Shame on the school board for engaging in this comprehensive review (with absurd five year cycles) rather than addressing the actually urgent needs (only Coates at the moment).
The comprehensive review was a good thing. If they end up making almost no changes, that is also fine.
The comprehensive review was a waste of a half million dollars. Likely 1 million wasted when you factor in all the over time for the dozens of FCPS employees and security staffing all these meetings.
This! I'm a democrat...and not even a conservative democrat, but a super liberal democrat. I can't believe what a waste of money this board spent on this clown show of a consulting firm. Before this process I would have never considered questioning my vote on things like school bonds. I would have 'likely' not questioned the intentions or competency for the board members I voted for...but after this whole mess. Don't get me wrong, I'm not switching sides...but I'm sure as heck paying a million times more attention in the next school board election cycle.
