It does appear Combs openly had at least 2 additional girlfriends at the same time he dated Cassie, near the end of their romantic relationship.

Cassie certainly knew about these women’s sexual activities with Diddy, and she may have participated in the sex too.   Seems like the term “swingers” might fit here too.

Swinging is a specific type of consensual non-monogamy where committed couples, often married or long-term partners, mutually agree to engage in sexual activities with other people, typically together or with full transparency. It’s based on consent, equality, and open communication.

Just because a couple is aware of each other's sexual activities outside the relationship, or even involved in group sex, doesn’t make them swingers. The dynamic between Diddy and Cassie was a controlling, abusive relationship. Diddy used manipulation, coercion, and violence to control Cassie, which is the opposite of what happens in a swinger relationship.

Also, the extreme acts you're referencing, whether consensual or not, have nothing to do with swinging. Fetishes or kinks exist across all kinds of relationships, including abusive ones. Using those acts to paint Cassie as a willing participant in a healthy, open relationship ignores the very real power imbalance and abuse that she detailed and which Diddy partially confirmed with a public apology. But that’s one of the problems with the prosecutions case:  Cassie apparently was the one who hired the two escorts (granted, with Mr. Diddy’s money), and also:

He did not even have sex with Cassie while she was receiving the escorts’ services, which suggests she wanted those things to happen to her.  She could have said no, or stop, but she apparently did not.  Mr. Diddy only watched passively.[/quote]  She testified that sometimes Diddy would instruct the escort to urinate in her mouth, and that sometimes Diddy would also participate in urinating in her mouth. She said one time she was choking and held her hands up in defense.  Once Diddy noticed, he told the escort to stop.  She said that she hated it and it made her feel disgusting. And yes, Diddy was smart; he had Cassie handle the payment and secure the escorts.   He wanted to keep his hands clean (or so he thought).   And also, yes, he watched and he instructed the escorts and Cassie on exactly what to do. Afterwards he would have sex with Cassie.  Often, after the men "finished" on her, he would instruct Cassie to rub the "finishing" on his nipples.  [/quote]
