I continue to hope that this story will have a happy ending but now with this woman being gone in its second wk., I clearly can concede that the chance of this being a possibility at this point is pretty much nil. The video of the person who was at her doorstep looked pretty ominous - - the person looked very very dangerous and I have a sinking feeling that Nancy was likely killed in her home -> prior to being taken. I think the majority of people agree w/me on this……I think that people are probably cautious saying it out loud because of the sensitivity being that it is a celebrity’s mother.
+1 I suspect the person might have crossed the border…where kidnapping is sorta common among criminals, and bitcoin makes this a relatively easy thing. But most crime stems from some sort of relationship. In this case, I wonder if a caregiver, house cleaner, repairman, delivery person, etc. identified an opportunity and took it. Or, sometimes crazy people just do crazy things. I think a crazy person wouldn’t have the foresight to remove a body…only someone with a plan to seek ransom takes a person dead or alive.
They might just be a killer for the sake of doing it. Psychopath type individual.
Right. But killers don’t usually take bodies with them…or go the ransom route.
Maybe the ransom note(s) are fake, sent by opportunists, and this was a burglary attempt gone wrong and she was accidentally killed and body disposed.
Burglars don’t take dead bodies with them. Kidnappers take people…although preying upon the elderly, killing them, and then seeking a ransom seems like a viable option for someone who can easily cross the border and receive bitcoin ransoms. In fact, it sounds like a money making operation. And ICYMI kidnapping for ransom is a thing in Mexico.
How is he getting the elderly woman across the border?
For those of you talking about the border, do you realize that it’s several hours away from Tucson?
It is not. It’s like an hour. I grew up in Tucson before all the border insanity and we used to go down to Nogales for lunch and shopping all the time. You’d park across from the McDonald’s on the Arizona side and walk across the border, get lunch at La caverns (until it burned down, then that other place upstairs from the fancy stores kn the courtyard). Miss both those places.
