For what it's worth, my daughter attends a girls private school and more than one quarter of her class is red shirted. Based on conversations with other parents, redshirting is as common for girls in private schools as it is for boys. It wouldn't surprise me if redshirting is becoming more common for girls in public education as well.[/quote]
