The point, which I think is obvious but apparently not, is whether a sports tournament is or can be or should be more important than a close family wedding. The wedding doesn't have to be the most important day of the person's life to think that a tournament shouldn't trump. The bride could place it in line with a number of important life events, like a 75th anniversary party for grandparents, like a bat mitvah of a sibling, like a parent's retirement party after decades of public service etc.[/quote]
