I guess I would just ask: Who paid for the Gen X's home they lived in growing up? At what age did the GenX begin supporting themselves outside their parents' home - if, in fact, they have moved out yet (and stayed out)? Who actually paid for their college and their clothing, food and shelter until they moved out? How many GenX still receive stipends from their parents or guardians so they can make ends meet? Who takes care of the GenX's grandparents or their kids while they chase the lifestyle they believe they deserve without working for it? Who took up the mantle of freedom and equality during the 60s and 70s so that women and people of color could have the rights (in housing, business, schooling, etc.) they are granted by their creator? Who fought in the courts for sexual harassment laws so that women wouldn't be forced to sleep with the boss to keep the job that paid for food and clothing for their kids? What generation invented the technology GenX relies on for daily life? Where is the gratitude? Really? Kick us to the curb? Boomers I know paid for their own college/post high school training , worked full time and moved out of their parents' home by the age of 18. Whining wasn't an option; Boomers were on their own to make life work. Innovation and hard work was the order of the day, not condemnation and entitlement. Boomers devote much of their wealth and their time to making life better for others - for their parents, their kids, their grandkids and those less fortunate than they are. Sheesh-reality check. And if GenX doesn't like the way things are, they should change them like Boomers did- without neglecting your own responsibilities.
