New admin at Brearley from a middling school upstate with low Ivy admissions (1 girls to Harvard in 4 years, 2 to Yale). Curious to see how that works out in next 5-10.
So far Brearley has 5 going to Harvard, and the decisions are still coming in on the instagram account (they post about one a day). So I guess the new admin from some random upstate school isn’t doing such a bad job 🤷🏻♀️
They’d have gotten in from Jackson MS High too. Their TT had nothing to do with it. Rich parents did.
NP. If that's true, then a new admin would be irrelevant to college matriculation and there is really no need to be "curious how that works out in the next 5-10." That poster trying to speculate that Brearley's stats may decline can't have it both ways. And again, there are dozens (hundreds?) of rich parents of graduating kids in every private school in the city. Yet very few of those schools have stats like these. So there is no way it is just rich parents. The TTs are TTs for a reason. Otherwise, all of those schools would have the same reputations and all would have similar college matriculations. And they don't.
There’s a huge difference between attracting a restaurant chain owner or a new money hedge funder with a 50mm net worth v. an established nine figure family with several buildings at Harvard. The latter goes to Brearley. The former goes to Dwight or HM then Cornell. So long as the headmaster attracts rich connected families it’s all fine.
You have no idea what you’re talking about.
