The Israeli military said on Saturday that Ahmed Khalil al-Rajabi tried to run over troops stationed in the city center in an attempted ramming attack, but new footage shows al-Rajabi fleeing from soldiers advancing toward him, one of them pointing his gun at the vehicle.

[V]ideo from a security camera shows al-Rajabi approaching soldiers as they signal him to stop. His car pauses briefly as the soldiers advance toward him, one of them pointing his gun at the vehicle. Al-Rajabi then continues to drive in reverse in an attempt to flee, hitting one of the soldiers.

According to the Red Crescent, IDF forces prevented rescue teams from reaching [bystander Ziad Na'im Jabara] Abu Dawud after he was shot, and he later succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
