Government workers generally have great benefits and strong job protections. If you want disempowered workers, it’s not good to have a different employment model that might get people asking “hey, why can’t we have what they have?” Also, sometimes the government stops business people from doing exactly what they what. And to the extent that some government services are worth keeping, there’s money to be made in providing the same services but for profit as contractors. [/quote]
