Someone just posted list on private school forum: BASIS (2) Edmund Burke (1) DC International School (1) Georgetown Day School (4) Georgetown Visitation (2) Jackson-Reed (3) MacArthur HS (1) Maret (1) National Cathedral School (5) School Without Walls (3) Sidwell Friends (4) St Albans (2) St Anselm's Abbey (3) St John's College HS (1) Washington International (1) Washington Latin Public Charter (3)
On a percentage of class size basis, St Anselm’s would be the winner by a long shot, right? And for non-selective admission schools that also don’t attempt to weed out students (all 4 of those), I’d say it’s Latin for the win.
Looking at all charter schools in DC rhyming with fatten, it is Latin with a tremendous win over every other school!!!! Nos sumus optima!
I don't get the mocking of Latin. It has more semifinalists that nearly all of the private schools on a per student basis.
NP. No one is mocking Latin. PP is mocking the Latin booster who claims that Latin is a wonderful school because it had a few NMSFs this year. The fact is that the school is mid. Some kids don’t even graduate or go to college. Having a few top NMSF scorers this year (Latin typically has zero NMSF) doesn’t show that the school is good.
My point was actually that Latin serves the full range of scholastic abilities. It has the NMSFs AND the kids who won’t go to college. That is unusual in this city. And obviously some smart kids are doing well taking tests there. (Not sure you can say much more from the data at hand.)
