OP here.  I'm not equating the plight of those seeking better lives for themselves generally with the plight of those fleeing the Nazis.  But I'm not begrudging them either.  I don't think it's morally right to penalize them just because they weren't born here.  Once they're here, following the law, and want to work I will hire them.  They deserve nothing less. Europe?  This is the United States of America.  We are a vast country .  We have crumbling depopulating post-industrial cities. We need people.  Tough hard-working industrious people.  The only post-industrial cities near me with increasing population, enjoy that because of immigration.  You have a bunch of people ready to go there. Who are they?[/quote]
