I think in addition to the majority of TTPD, he is in most of the Folklore songs too, but also in at least a handful on Evermore, Midnights, Reputation, Lover…. Now that I have seen it, I cannot unsee it. A ton of her work is about him. It was Matty all along, he was the muse. I am unwell.
They’ve had so, so many exchanges hidden in their lyrics over the years too. For example, she would ask “If the story’s over, why am I still writing pages?” Then he writes her a song on his next album, saying “I've been in love with her for ages, and I can't seem to get it right…I think the story needs more pages, yes.” Or lyrics like this: “I would fall from grace Just to touch your face. For you, I would cross the line They say, “She's gone too far this time" TS “I would go blind just to see you I'd go too far just to have you near.” MH Or the way he references her Delicate dance in the Oh, Caroline video, and she references his Part Of The Band video in the Fortnight video.
🤯 Robbers is my favorite 1975s song, and so I immediately noticed Taylor’s nod to it in Ready For It. Then years later, she did it again in Peace, The 1 and Cowboy Like Me.
