It’s easy to find plenty of links that talk about how it has been losing roughly $40 million per year at this point. If I weren’t driving right now, I would post some.

He will get to finish his contract.  They simply are not renewing the contract

+1  It's not like they fired Colbert and replaced him with another $15M host. There hasn't been any evidence that would lead a reasonable person to determine that CBS decided not to renew this money-hemorrhaging show (in advance of a merger when they're trying to decrease the expenses column) due to Trump.[/quote]

If your show is losing $40 million a year with declining ad revenue, I’m sure pointing an accusing finger at CBS motivations helps you to not take stock of the financial picture.

I like Colbert just fine. He’ll be fine. CBS will probably lose less money by having empty air in that spot.[/quote]
