He will get to finish his contract.  They simply are not renewing the contract

+1  It's not like they fired Colbert and replaced him with another $15M host. There hasn't been any evidence that would lead a reasonable person to determine that CBS decided not to renew this money-hemorrhaging show (in advance of a merger when they're trying to decrease the expenses column) due to Trump.[/quote]

You don't have a smoking gun proving that it was.

There are legitimate reasons why his contract wouldn't be renewed, including losing money and declining popularity for that genre. Plus the fact that they didn't replace him/are scrapping the whole endeavor and they're letting him finish his contract instead of firing him. [/quote]

One more legitimate reason that blows away your TDS timing theory is that companies generally cut poorly performing sections right before a merger. So even if Colbert's contract non-renewal is related to the merger, then there's a legitimate reason why it has nothing to do with Trump.[/quote]
