I don't think Robbie talked him down, so much as they joked about jumping and it was only half-joking because mental health is actually a huge deal in their profession and you do have to worry about that. But the guy was talking about one of his patients coming back later that day and giving Robbie the rundown on what was happening in the ER during the shift changeover. Anyway, he's at home sleeping and having a life but will presumably show up to take over the night shift towards the end of the season.[/quote]
