Loudon is full of feds/fed contractors.  You need to get out of your bubble, because by summer that area is going to be suffering from massive job cuts and their vacations will be staycations as the parents look for new jobs.  [/quote]

Maybe. Didn’t happen in 2008/2009 or during the pandemic. Just $$$$$$ everywhere. I feel like such an outsider here. Can’t afford to move closer in, and DH’s job is in this area or yes I would leave. [/quote]

DC and areas like Loudoun were 100% insulated from 2008-2009 - it was a finance crash, govt/govt contractors were unscathed. Covid - these are people who work in white collar jobs in offices, not in restaurants so they pivoted to WFH and Zoom within one week and were good to go - so again money was flowing. This time it's unfortunately the DC area's turn.[/quote]
