As a civilian Fed we all took the oath of Office. I had to take it back when I was hired as a lowly GS-9.  The moment stands out in my mind some 30 years later

“I, AB, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God."

We were vetted and we took an oath.  Elon has taken no such oath, was neither vetted or elected and clearly wouldn’t be able to take this oath…

And anyone who has gone through the clearance process knows how long it can take and how thorough they are. Do you think 19 yo Big Balls went through the same process all of us other civil servants with clearance did?

5-10 years from now, kids will be reading their History books about the fall of democracy at the hands of a teenager colloquially known as Big Balls. They will read how out of 195 countries, only 1 refused to acknowledge the name Gulf of Mexico. They will read about the unsuccessful attempt of capturing Greenland to rename it Red, White, and Blueland. If I wasn't alive during this timeline, I wouldn't believe this shit. It's like a fever dream or a bad Wattpad government fanfiction written by a sullen tweenager.   [/quote]
