My take -- disappointed -- wanted to see a win for shaboozy, birds of a feather, and TTPD. Happy about Chappel Roan win. Just listened to the kendrick Lamar song for the fist time and I can't believe he won so much. The N word -- I just couldn't listen to more than 30 seconds of it.
I’d rather listen to Kendrick Lamar than Birds of a Feather. That song just feels so lazy.
Kendrick’s song is garbage. Where was Gracie Abrams nomination for Best New Artist? Or Charlie Xcx? Where was Ariana Grande for album, song? Good Luck, Babe! is Song of the Year. Or Birds Of a Feather.
Gracie Abrams sounds exactly like Taylor Swift- I find it creepy. Ariana Grande’s song sucks. I’d rather Good Luck Babe! Won song of the year- or Espresso. That being said Birds of a Feather is lazy writing- from the lyrics to the performance.
Everyone’s song was better than Kendrick’s. I love Fortnight - both the song and her beautiful, artsy video. It was my most streamed song and album of 2024. I like Shaboozey too, his song is such a bop. That said, Chappell or Billie should have won for Song of the Year.
NOT---so sick of the same poppy whiny music Kendrick Lamar won the Pulitzer Prize in music in 2018. The Pulitzer Prize website called DAMN. "a virtuosic song collection unified by its vernacular authenticity and rhythmic dynamism that offers affecting vignettes capturing the complexity of modern African-American life." It's the first time in the prize's history that it has been given to an artist outside of the classical or jazz community.
