HS soccer is luck of the draw so a lot of girls don't play because they're best player on a very poor team cobbled together. Plenty of girls have a lot of fun and some of the state's best play and win state championships doing so. Therefore, it's very fun for them or you know they wouldn't play. Costs parents almost nothing so the argument "you play because I've paid" is out the window. VA HS soccer has a lot of talented club players and you'll see it in the playoffs.
This just goes to show that you don't understand why club soccer is higher level than anything HS can put together. When you're watching two teams play and you can see certain players go on breakaways multiple times and score it's the hallmark of B team soccer. It might look exciting from a spectator perspective but it's not good soccer. Two really good teams with really good players in all positions will go back and forth over and over trying different team tactics. This is usually what high level soccer looks like. It's also why when top teams play each other generally the scores are low and close.
You are correct when you see a break away at the professional level just remember itβs the hallmark of a B level team. The MLS Next teams would never allow that to happen. ππ
