The Obama era changes that suggested schools could run afoul of federal civil rights laws if they disciplined students of color at higher rates than their peers were rolled back some during the Trump era.  The school systems that implemented changes initially are unlikely to change back however.  I can’t imagine MCPS changing discipline guidelines if it led to an increase in minority kids getting in trouble.  I think they would prefer to let the entire system crumble.[/quote]

The discipline disparities for minority kids still persist even with these lenient guidelines in place, so clearly the guidelines are not solving the problem they were designed to disrupt.[/quote]
