The VI who got shot got a five-year Charles Allen Youth Act sentence for his role in a homicide in 2018. Under DC law, he was not allowed to possess a handgun, yet was in possession of one while working as a city-paid VI. He also had been arrested for having counterfeit tags earlier this year (naturally, that charge was pleaded away despite his past involvement in a homicide).

What now? Minorities can't get time off? Blanket statement there, no? If you truly believe that, why don;t you call for mobile service vans and improved DMV function. DMV seems to have a predominantly minority workforce so guessing they'd be receptive.[/quote]
