Actually, I'm solidly Gen X, about 10 years younger than VP Harris. Plenty of people take me seriously. I don't own a pair of Converse All Stars because I don't find them comfortable. Like VP Harris, I wear sneakers or other comfortable shoes when I'm commuting or in the office and switch into heels for major events. Most of my peers do the same, and have done so for years.
