Op here. I once invited a coworker to a kid party at my house and she was the only one who kept her heels on. I didn’t ask her to take them off.

Unless you’re going barefoot in public restrooms the bare feet are always less gross than filthy shoes. I can’t think of anyone I know with nasty fungus feet. I live in a warm environment where people wear a lot of slides, flip flops, sandals etc so fee are often on display. It says more about your circle and their hygiene habits than it does generally about Americans.[/quote]
