By all accounts, Kane was a raging addict and the leader of a toxic work environment with a precocity toward revenge. He sounds like an awful colleague and person in general. However, IMO, the mother of his children should stop dragging him through the mud and move on with her life. We can believe women and encourage positive employment environments without driving the bus over a dead addict every chance we get.
Did you actually listen to the podcast? They weren’t dragging him through the mud.
I did listen to the podcast. Did you? Talking about a dead person and the demons that killed him is low class.
You sound co-dependent.
Or like a person with empathy. You sound hardened.
I have been through Al-Anon and other programs for children of addicts. I can both emphasize and be a realist, knowing that speaking about addiction helps others realize they are not alone. Talking about someone's addiction and how it impacts those around them can truly help others realize they are not alone and can give them strength to work through the trauma. Kane was 43 when he died, my Mother was 57. I can empathize with his girls but also see the value in sharing his story to help others. Kane was surrounded by a bunch of "yes people" who enabled his behaviors and never helped him. He lashed out the most at he people who really cared and tried to get him help, as addicts do. It is important that their stories are heard.
