There won't be any future if FCV doesn't provide a plan going forward. Players won't sit around in the dark hoping for the best.
The backbone of FCV left. GA is dead.
Nah. I might have believed that statement a couple of years ago when FCV was beating GA teams 10-0 and their only real competition was strong ECNL teams. But that's not the case anymore. At least in the Mid Atlantic GA FCV, has a harder time beating GA teams than decent ECNL teams. So either GA is getting stronger in the MA or ECNL is getting watered down weaker. But true, if FCV goes away in the DMV, so does GA representation... at least for a while.
Yah ECNL is a big scam. Connections, networking, $$ are bringing recreational level players in front of colleges. Our team has a few committed players that show poor to zero IQ in the field. I am seeing coaches sabotaging some talented players cause they show up more than their favs.
People may find this ridiculous but dont realize the size of the egos on some of these coaches at these local ECNL clubs. They would rather sabotage than let a player shine over who they may have thought would pan out. Sounds crazy but I believe it.
see it first hand at nva. Coaches dont get the historicals on players… only to not realize and eventually accept the ones that are favs arent the best ones on the teams. Because they never were. True talent will shine regardless and normally does. Then the talent goes to another club to destroy their old team on the otherside of the pitch. It’s beautiful when it happens. Also thank god for instagram and phones to tell the true stories. Its a great equalizer to counter narratives
