Nobody is missing any point, we just don’t agree with yours. I don’t think the letters said anywhere that he didn’t commit the crimes he’s accused of. They’re character references that outside of these terrible crimes, for the past 20 years, he’s been a good friend, husband and father to his loved ones. It’s not to negate his crime, it’s to lessen the sentence to the shortest of the options.
Exactly! I am a PP who was accused of being "willfully misinformed." Nope-I just have a differd saynt opinion. I read a number of the letters and didn't see that any of them stated that he didn't commit the crime.
NP here. These letters, in particular, the ones from Ashton and Mila, were careful crafter PR statements written by publicist experts in character letters. Don't fool yourself that these were written by them, using their own words, from the heart. All of them have the same themes of how Masterson never did drugs, how he aggressively was against his friends doing drugs, how he was so inspirational, a leader and a role model to them, how he was honorable. None of them suggest that he shouldn't have been convicted (saying that he is innocent and the conviction was wrong is a big no no in these kind of letters, of course they're not going to write that). Even his wife's letter doesn't even say this. Their video follow up was a script written by PR. It's all written by publicist who are professionals on what exactly to say. Every single word is intentional, every one. It's politics, I would expect people from the DMV to smell and spot this immediately.
