Loudoun County might be the best bet. Honestly,[b] Fairfax County for some reason has been painted by conservative media as being "flaming" left[/b], but it really isn't. I live here. I'm squarely in the middle politically. Our neighbors are very conservative and they are still here. Maybe they feel like they've had to compromise their values to exist here, but I don't get that vibe at all. The schools are huge, so their kids will find their people because there are just so many different kinds of people. Sure you're going to run into someone who is wacko out in left field every now and then, but the goal isn't to live in a place where you will never have to tolerate someone different than you, right? I'm not sure I have any suggestions for a family who isn't willing to tolerate any diversity of thought.   [/quote]

I agree with this PP, and I think the reason for the media characterizing FFX county this way is the number of vocal liberal activists with no kids that make up the current school board. The things they choose to focus time and attention and resources on do not reflect the overall slight-left of center leanings of most parents in FFX COUNTY. Most parents just want strong schools for a good education for their kids.[/quote]
