Backing up a minute, can someone explain to me how the R's are holding Feinstein hostage? Feinstein could step down and Newsom would name her replacement, another reliable D. It seems to me that in her lucid moments she is just plain stubborn or in denial about her abilities and cognitive function.
Anyone?
Feinstein sits on the Judiciary Committee. Republicans have said they won't allow Democrats to replace Feinstein on the committee. It would be a deadlocked voted. It's a very partisan move by the GOP, eroding the usual operational norms of the Senate committees. https://apnews.com/article/feinstein-mcconnell-judiciary-temporary-replacement-66d8a1614e962ccfb7c9252c0ccf2a96#:~:text=WASHINGTON%20(AP)%20%E2%80%94%20Republicans%20blocked,Joe%20Biden's%20stalled%20judicial%20nominees.
A partisan move led by McConnell.
Yes, just one more GOP wrench in the system to make sure that Democrats don’t have the fair say that the voters want, and one more reason why the mouth breathing “both sides” posters are completely off base.
