The book and the movie are very different. John Lee Hancock wrote the script and directed the movie. He was the one that took extreme liberties with the story and the Tuohys had final approval on Michael’s behalf as his conservators. [/quote]

The Tuohys become Oher’s legal guardian (ie conservator) in the movie. We don’t know if they ever approved any financial decisions on his behalf. It could be that the conservatorship was established to satisfy the NCAA but never had enforced by the Tuohys. [/quote]

Also this man is now 37. He spent more than a decade in the NFL. He earned $35m. Have they been involved in his finances all this time?  Did they get a cut?  Doesn’t make sense.

I think it is simple. He wants to embarrass them. He thinks if I were actually a son as you said, where is my cut of the family money. It so easily proveable that they didn’t make money off the movie. He was getting small checks. His lawyers know how this business works.  This is about something else. [/quote]
