So....which sandals would you recommend for OP? Here is the updated request:

[i]OP again, again-- I think what I really want this year is a walkable sandal, with a back strap and arch support, with a 1-2 inch heel or wedge, in a soft metallic or neutral that kinda disappears on the foot. (You know what I mean? Does that make sense?) The t-strap thing isn't that big of a deal. Again, thank you for all the responses! I wish I could wear many of these suggestions.

Depending on skin tone, the beige can blend. The whole shoe is so slim that the interior orthopedic quality is not obvious. The writer Sadie Stein wrote a love letter to these on NY mag years ago.

I didn’t say it was younger as I didn’t see that as OP’s request. You can snark at me all you like, but I have good taste.

The truth is that were price no object and given her age, OP got a decent answer on p. 1 with Ferragamo. I’d add APC personally.  All this garbage posted here with visible cork and speed laces is the stuff of nightmares, unless you get one with intentional absurdity in the design like by Suicoke or something.[/quote]

I was just expecting something younger since the most common complaint about the shoes posted was that they are "geriatric".
