I'm not saying OP could be working but uses welfare as an excuse to not work, but there are absolutely many many people who are capable of working, but would rather be paid (via welfare) to not work.

But there are few posts like yours from people who think they are better than poor people because they smugly think to themselves that they aren’t on government assistance but ignore the government welfare they receive in the form of a [b]mortgage deduction[/b], government student loans, [b]government subsidized employer healthcare[/b], [b]government subsidized 529s & 401Ks[/b]. Again, not taxing something does not equal "subsidy."  You are starting with the viewpoint that government owns everything.  It doesn't "give back" people's money when it doesn't tax it.  You are Marxist if you hold this viewpoint.  Why not move to one of the many successful countries that espouses this view?  Oh wait, there aren't any.[/quote]
