I think I figured it out. He graduated from Yale in 2001 and from HLS in 2005. The year in the middle of those was the one where he was teaching history at the private school and going to parties with students - Trump has been harping on that. So the answer as to where he was is teaching history to high school students, and the answer to why he’s yada-yadaing over where he was during the actual event is that he doesn’t want to say that’s where he was and open himself up to questions about it.[/quote]

He was pictured at a graduation party for his students.  Lots of our favorite teachers attended our graduation parties when I was in high school.  But I get that it's super fun to take Trump's asinine, baseless attack and run with it.

I hate both DeSantis and Trump. But if this is the case, then DeSantis missed a golden opportunity to tell everyone 
* exactly where he was on 9/11, 
* that he was teaching at the time but watching 9/11 unfold with these kids made him want to go to law school and join the JAG to help bring those responsible to justice,
* that the picture that’s circulating was from an innocent graduation party,
* and that Trump, who used to brag about walking into dressing rooms full of underaged beauty pageant contestants while they were changing, has a dirty mind and should stop his asinine, baseless attack about an innocent graduation party.

[/b] I sincerely doubt Morgan wanted a literal play-by-play of exactly where DeSantis was on 9/11.  The answer he gave - a general summing up of where he was [b]IN LIFE[/b] - seems much more succinct and appropriate to the conversation. But keep up the faux outrage!

To that point, here is the full, uncut interview.  Right around 27:00 is right after the clip ended - and right when they start talking about that time in our country's history.  His answer makes perfect sense, but of course, whoever made the clip strategically left out the rest of their conversation.  How typical.

After watching this interview, I'm liking DeSantis even more.  He comes across as smart, personable, humble, and NORMAL.

You're missing the point, perhaps deliberately so, which seems common in DeSantis fans. The point is not his reciting his exact location/play by play of where he was on 9/11, it's that DeSantis literally squinches up his face like he's trying to recall some obscure fact from his childhood and then says, "I [i]think[/i] I had just graduated college and was applying to law school."

No American adult over the age of about 35 is going to find it believable that DeSantis doesn't recall precisely where he was/how/when he found out. DeSantis made that the story, not the left. PP above wrote an excellent script for how this should have been handled.  [/quote]

Oh, please.  Shall we talk about Biden’s utter inability to recall FACTS from his life, and instead resorts to spinning wild and untrue yarns?  DeSantis correctly skipped over the mundane “where were you” and made his answer more applicable to where he was headed in his life and how 9/11 affected him - which you would grasp if you actually watched the whole video and not some silly clip taken out of context.
