I grew up poor and Republican in rural America. I worked my ass off and managed to send myself to college, and left rural America for a better job. During the Bush administration my eyes opened to just how bad the Republicans were and it's only gotten worse since. Yet when I go back to rural America to visit family and see old friends I see them still stuck in the same damn rut thinking the same dumb things believing the same Republican lies.
