That's ... a lot tamer than what was initially implied.  He yelled at her and at a later point, when she grabbed him, he jerked away and she was hurt.  And he ranted/yelled a lot.  And at the end of the flight, grabbed her and shook her when she told him she was taking the children.  <-- This all seems to be from her POV, either he didn't contradict her or the FBI didn't talk to him or he said exactly the same thing that she did.
