I have friends who are still Republicans and decent people. It seems to be cultural identity related to some degree as some  come from many generations of R and in another case, related to being evangelical Christians.

Many Latino immigrants are Republicans due to what they perceive to be better fit for their conservative values (I actually think Dem have way more family values in substance).

Others still perceive Republicans to be better choice for economic management although I do not agree.

In real life there are many of us.

I know many Md Dems who really like Governor Hogan and would even consider voting for him as president.

At DC’s school even mix of Rs and Ds and no one talks about that. We all care about DC’s  education and the school community though. [/quote]
