I remember my husband saying it was one of the reasons he didn’t want to go to UVA. He went through four years at Episcopal and they called it “THE High School” and he hated it. I’m not knocking UVA. I had a lot of friends who went and loved it (this was the 90s). I also remember JMU = Just Missed UVA too.

NP.  While no one says it anymore, it's very true UVA used to refer to itself as "The University."  I grew up here and that was a common car sticker.  If you didn't live here back in the 80s and 90s, then you wouldn't have seen it.  [/quote][/quote]
