It's just Youngkin trying to grab credit for the pandemic ending. Makes me hate him even more.
The fact that Dem governors are also dropping mask mandates makes your assessment sound even more ridiculous than it did when he was elected based on making it a choice for parents.
Virginia did not do what those Democratic governors did. They ended statewide mandates but allowed local district to make their own rules. Virginia has banned local discretion making it like FL and TX.
I think the fight to get in person school showed us that local districts can’t be trusted.
I disagree with you. I think people who use that anger for political purposes can’t be trusted. I think people who want to ban books and avoid teaching accurate history can’t be trusted. Schools are open in person and have been for nearly a year. It was a novel pandemic and the federal government was led by someone pretending that it didn’t exist, would go away like magic and that bleach should be injected into bodies. The school boards were left to figure out public health by themselves. They were over cautious but not evil or against children or obsess with power as these people are saying now. They tried and they made mistakes. That doesn’t mean they can’t be trusted!
