Stamps is married to a 30-year-old. Cooper is partnered to a 40-year-old. Both have guardianship rights over kids. Both have been there since birth. Both have access to substantial trusts.

All my gay friends with kids are married. Married. If they ever divorce (not likely given how long they’ve been together), the kids will be fine. They’ve established firm family bonds.

Cooper and his ex aren’t coparenting. They were barely a couple to begin with. He’s just covering the bases so the kids have someone if he dies.

I’m sure the kids will be fine regardless. But let’s not go overboard and make this out as an ideal situation. Kids are best served with younger parents—ideally two people in a loving, monogamous relationship. Couldn’t care less if they are gay. [/quote]
