People are sick and tired of CA's insane politics, nosebleed taxes, overregulation, COL, and having to dodge human fecal bombs on their way to work.

Money is fleeing Silicon Valley and CA.  CA is a has been.  While Californians continue to suck down their hubris like it is still 2005, they will wake up one day with their legs swept out from underneath them when they realize no more VC money is flowing into the state to found more tech unicorns. The VC money may be declining in Silicon Valley, but it's not necessarily leaving the state.  The VC money on San Diego doubled between 2017 and 2021:
