You can bet your butt it's the boomers' fault the schools are closed, the businesses are imploding, commercial real estate is doomed for a decade because they can all "work from home" in their smug flush retirement secure overpriced homes. The boomers in my neighborhood who had no problem closing the pool all summer because of their irrational fear. Doesn't effect them, they barely go to the pool, haha they're so content. Meanwhile, all the kids in the neighborhood are shut down all summer long. Shut the bars? No big whoop to the boomers! They sip their vodka gimlets at home anyway. Shut the theaters forever? Whatever, they have plenty of $$ for every premium channel. Shut the schools? Have at it, they aren't effected at all and besides those noisy bus stops annoy them every morning on their leisure walks anyway.

The absolute most spoiled generation in all of history. The only generation ever to not have to face its own mortality. No wars. No depression. No disasters. They grew up in America's golden age and inherited the greatest wealth ever created. Then they spent it all. Built equity in homes all the rest of us are now expected to buy from them so they can head south. The most cowardly spoiled generation ever who now is faced with a small taste of mortality, [b]a weak flu virus[/b] that is taking out a relative handful of their numbers (250K out of 360M people? hardly a massive pandemic no matter how you slice it), a virus that is a window into their own inevitable death, and they freaked the hell out. They shut everything down. They doomed us all. Because they have no skin in the game. They are the eternally damned generation.

Uh, flu is a coronavirus. And any coronavirus with 99.98 survival rate through the age of 60, then drops to 99.95 through 70, then drops to 94% or so from there is a WEAK FLU VIRUS. 250K or so people dying out of 360 MILLION is WEAK. If people were dying in the streets, if it caused hemorrhaging, if children were dying at all, if hospitals were ever even remotely close to full, if there was any reason whatsoever to fear this virus at all, then I'd be first one to say "shut it down". If thousands of children were dying in April the whole world wouldn't have hesitated for a second to do all this stuff we've done. But none of that is true, and you know it, or at least your left shoulder good angel keeps whispering it to you but you keep up your obstinate defiance.

Notwithstanding the political harpies on this board and throughout the DMV, the EXPERTS (oh we love you experts, smooch smooch) advised every draconian measure and the federal and all state government dutifully executed all of it. You can't name a single measure that was advised that didn't get executed. And yet, here we are, "spiking" across the world and going through the whole kabuki all over again. Except of course in Wuhan (haha the irony is sick) and Sweden (yes, Sweden Exists). Why? Maybe, just maybe, because the did the OPPOSITE of what everyone else did.
